Khan Academy

Yesterday we talked about online training for improving your computer knowledge. What about knowledge in general? The Khan Academy offers a free online library of over 2,400 videos. The subjects covered include all topic areas, including high school and college level subjects. If you have a student that could use some help or if you just want to increase your own knowledge, take a look. These videos are soon to be made available via an iPad app as well. Update: Interesting article, “How Khan Academy is Changing the Rules of Education“, in Wired magazine about this site.

Dragon Go! iPhone app

From the makers of Dragon Dictation for iOS comes a new free app. Ask a question (or make a statement) and this app will attempt to determine what you were talking about and present it to you. No typing required. Just ask  a question. Take a look at this video to see how it works. Via: TUAW

The service is available on your computer as well as your mobile phone.

He also reviews the Continental Airlines iPhone app and comments on the 2011 ABA Technology Survey (which suggests that around 300,000 U.S. Lawyers use an iPhone and another 130,000 use an iPad).

Reuse kids’ activity paper on the iPad

From the DocumentSnap blog comes a post by Brooks Duncan about how to repurpose your children’s coloring books, mazes and other paper-based fun into your iPad. Of course this assumes you don’t mind letting your kids play with your iPad. Maybe a nice case is in order?
